Nose Surgery (Rhinoplasty)

The nose is a focal point of our face. A nose that is not in harmony with other facial features presents a visual distraction and detracts from the overall balance of one's features. Nose surgery, or rhinoplasty, can correct the distracting features of the nose and bring the facial features in better balance. A bump on the nose can be smoothened, a large bulbous nose can be better defined with a finer tip.

The rhinoplasty procedure

Rhinoplasty is done as an outpatient procedure through a small incision along the columella, the area that separates the nostrils. Once healed, this scar is minimally visible. Depending on the changes that need to be made, the bridge of the nose will be smoothened, or the tip of the nose is sculpted using native cartilage of the nose or cartilage from the ear. The results are apparent within weeks after surgery, although it will take up to a year for the contour to be fully defined.
